Magna Awards (2008) honorable mention presented by the American School Board Journal for outstanding programs that advance student learning and encourage community involvement in the schools; in recognition of the district’s Every 1 Reads initiative.

Golden Apple Top Web Site Award (2008) bestowed by WantToTeach.com for creating one of the best public school web sites in the nation.

Agavé Keystone Award (2008) presented by the Kentuckiana Minority Business Council for increasing contracts with minority-owned firms.

We Care Award (2008) from Republic Bank for staff’s fundraising efforts on behalf of communitywide campaigns.

New Employer of the Year Award (2008) presented by the University of Kentucky for demonstrated excellence in college relations, recruitment, and collaborative endeavors.

Innovation Award (2007) presented by the Learning Disabilities Association of Kentucky in recognition of the district’s work in helping adults with learning disabilities obtain GEDs.

Center for Sustainable Communities Award (2007) presented by the National Association of Counties in recognition of the district’s work with Louisville Metro government in the Partnership for a Green City.

HUDSON PUBLIC SCHOOLS RECOGNITIONS

Architectural Award Citation (2007) presented by the American Association of School Administrators for the design of Hudson High School as an outstanding educational environment.

Richard W. Riley Award for Excellence (2005) presented to the district by the KnowledgeWorks Foundation and the American Architectural Foundation for a high school design and program that best exemplifies a school as a center of community.

Massachusetts Civic Star Award (2004) presented by the American Association of School Administrators for Hudson’s school-to-career program as an exemplary program in building school-community partnerships.

Stockholm Challenge Award for Global Excellence in Information Technology (2001), an international awards program for ground-breaking projects in information technology, was presented to the Hudson Public Schools and the Concord Consortium for the creation of the Virtual High School.

National District of Character Award (2001), a national award for excellence in character education present by the Character Education Partnership.  The Hudson Public Schools was the only district to receive this award in 2001.

Vanguard Award (2001) presented by Mass Insight, an organization of business leaders supporting education reform in Massachusetts, to recognize Hudson High School for implementing fundamental school reforms that have enhanced student performance.

National Service-Learning Leader School Award presented by the Corporation for National Service to Hudson High School (1999, 2001) and to the J. F. Kennedy Middle School (2001) for excellence in providing service-learning experiences for students.

Massachusetts Service-Learning Leader School Award (2001) presented by the Massachusetts Department of Education to all four elementary schools in Hudson for excellence in providing service-learning experiences for students.

Magna Award (2000) presented by the National School Boards Association for the Virtual High School as an exemplary program that enhances student learning.

Technology Lighthouse Grant Awards (1998, 1999, 2000, 2001) presented by the Massachusetts Department of Education for exemplary technology programs.  The five awards received by the Hudson Public Schools are for the Virtual High School, the Mobile Inquiry Technology Project, Technology for Understanding Mathematics and Science Project, and Virtual Education Space.
