Inclusive Education

In addition to his advocacy work for special education funding discussed under “Education Policy and Leadership,” Dr. Berman has worked to support inclusive practices in each of his four districts, particularly by incorporating universal design for learning strategies and implementing Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools programs. During his leadership tenure, Andover High School was selected by Special Olympics as a National Unified Champion School. In addition, he has supported this work through his service on organizational boards of directors and advisory boards. Dr. Berman currently serves as chair of the board of directors of CAST and co-chair of the National Education Leadership Network of Special Olympics.
